Abingdon Venture Rescue & The Anthony Nolan Trust

Abingdon Venture Rescue (AVR) has been volunteering their outstanding services for
The Anthony Nolan Trust for twelve years.  During this time they have assisted the
charity in marshalling bike rides, fun runs etc, providing first aid back-up for all of our events
and assisting the smooth running of Anthony Nolan's largest fundraising events.

Abingdon Venture Rescue first helped The Anthony Nolan Trust with the Oxford Big Bike
Ride twelve years ago.  Since then they have provided radio, first aid and manpower for
this event.

Events that they have provided support include; the Oxford Big Bike Ride (twelve years),
the Only Fools Fun Run at Blenheim Palace (twelve years), Oxford Dragon Boat Race,
the Mystical Moor Bike Ride and the Four Counties Bike Ride.

AVR's service is second to none. Their friendliness, professionalism and willing approach
to assist charities like The Anthony Nolan Trust cannot be equalled.

Abingdon Venture Rescue & Cancer Research UK

Abingdon Venture Rescue has been a valued partner of Cancer Research UK since 2004. 
Since then the team has provided first aid, communications and logistical support for a
variety of community fundraising events in the Home Counties and beyond.

The team have put an incredible amount of time and effort into our walk series especially,
and have also made a major contribution to the charity's bike rides, fun runs and abseils. 
Invariably, event participants will make special mention of Abingdon Venture Rescue when
giving feedback on an event, which is testament to their efficiency, dedication and good nature.

To date, Abingdon Venture Rescue has played a crucial part in raising over £350,000 for
Cancer Research UK . More than 1 in 3 people will develop some form of cancer during their
lifetime.  At Cancer Research UK we are working hard to improve our understanding of cancer
and develop better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
